At One Shot Retrievers, we offer a professional, safe environment for both dog boarding and training near you. Our facility is designed to provide the structure dogs need to thrive while you're away, giving them plenty of exercise and attention.
Training goes beyond simple obedience, helping your dog become more confident and reliable in various situations. Using e-collar training, our experienced trainers focus on your dog’s development and well-being, ensuring tailored care for both short-term boarding and specialized training programs.
When you board your dog with us, they will have access to 45 acres of open land for daily play and exercise, including four ponds where they can enjoy engaging activities. Each dog receives two to three play sessions per day, keeping them active and engaged.
We also provide quality food during their stay, but clients are also welcome to bring their dog’s preferred food to maintain consistency with their home diet.
Our facilities are designed to keep your dog comfortable, with secure and monitored spaces that are cleaned and maintained regularly. The team at One Shot Retrievers understands the importance of maintaining a familiar routine, and we strive to create an environment where your dog feels well cared for throughout their stay.
With on-site trainers and 24/7 monitoring, your dog is in the best hands while you’re away.
All-Breed Obedience Training
Our all-breed obedience training is structured to establish control and clear communication between you and your dog. We work on the fundamentals—sit, stay, heel, here—while gradually introducing more complex commands as your dog progresses. Consistency, structure, and precise corrections with e-collars allow us to guide your dog toward reliable obedience.
Gun Dog Training
For those seeking to train their dog for fieldwork, our gun dog training program is specially designed to build the skills necessary for retrieving in hunting scenarios. We have four technical training ponds on-site, offering the perfect environment for water-based retrieving exercises, a key component in developing a strong and capable retriever. Our gun dog training builds on obedience foundations, but it goes further by focusing on specialized tasks such as retrieving downed birds, holding steady under pressure, and working in various terrains and conditions.

Since your dog is staying with us, not just visiting for a lesson, we can be a lot more consistent about when and how we use the e-collar — same handler, same standard, every single day. That consistency ends up mattering more than any single technique.
We only introduce it once a dog understands the command being reinforced, using indirect pressure so the correction lines up with the dog's own behavior rather than acting as a blanket punishment. Combined with the daily routine of boarding, it's part of why dogs tend to come home more settled overall, not just "trained."
Whether you're looking for all-breed obedience training, professional gun dog training, or reliable boarding, One Shot Retrievers is here to meet your needs.
